I recently picked up a Dell Precision Workstation 450 from my work. Yes I am aware of the age. I still love to mess with these machines though.
Anyway, currently it has a Xeon 2.66Ghz 512kb 533FSB. This is based of the NetBurst arch. I think. I know it isn't to fantastic and will generate a lot of heat. It has a 2nd CPU slot free which I would like to throw another 2.66Ghz Xeon in. Both CPUs have HT so it would look almost like a Quad Core(I am aware it won't act like one though)
Does anyone know the performance differences? Will a second processor increase performance?
This desktop also has a PCIX, 2xPCI, AGP X8. I am probably gonna grab a Radeon X850XT 256mb GDDR3. How would gaming be on this system? (Currently I have a GeForce 2MX inside of it )
I would mostly play Battlefront 1(plays perfectly on a Pentium M1.6, Radeon 9000 for me), Fallout 3 maybe, Call of Duty 4(long shot but still curious), Advent Rising, Wolfenstein Return to Castle, etc. Most games aren't new. Maybe CS:Go?
