I have a Motorola Surfboard SBG6580. It has been great up till a couple weeks ago. Here's what it's doing-

-The wifi always works great. I have the problems even while netflix is streaming on the tv through the wifi so the wifi connection is never interrupted.
-My pc is the only wired device and most of the time when I pull up a web page it will take several tries before it loads. Sometimes it loads very partially ( like just text but not in the correct format of the webpage), usually not at all. Then all of the sudden it will work for while.
-Sometimes the windows 7 troubleshooter says it cannot identify the problem, sometimes it says there is no problem, anytime it does see the problem it says the DNS servers are not responding.
- I have tried different DNS servers. I have swapped out my ethernet cable. I have tried different ports on my router.

At this point I am at a loss. I can't think of any other possible thing other than my router is starting to take a dump on me. And the fact that the wifi works flawlessly even when the wired connection is not working at all makes me think its a issue in the actual router. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I'm about to pull my freaking hair out over here. Thanks!

Get a technician from your service provider to come over and take a look at it
If they find any problems, let them take care of it
If you need a new router/modem, they should give you a replacement
If the router needs replacing, you'll need to replace that yourself, they probably don't replace routers, only modems they own
Just get one of them to test the modem, if they find a problem, let em fix it for ya, or even replace it, if that works
If no problems are found with the modem, or with even any wiring of their service around the house, chances are it's the router, which youll need to replace

Another interesting and incredibly annoying thing thats happening today. I takes me like 5 minutes to get the bandwidth speed test page to load but as soon as I am able to run the test I get a quick ping and the full 100 Mbps download speed and adequate upload speed. Yet some files I am currently downloading are running at 0.5 kbps when the program says my connection is configured as it should be. I am having more trouble than ever getting the internet to load anything. Takes several minutes and reloads of this page just to get here.

PC and related network kit don't "diiiieeeee" over a period of time. They either work or they don't. Sounds like your PC application stack may have the problem rather than the router - virus/malware? Too many background tasks or conflicting applications?

Also bear in mind a wired PC will use a different protocol stack to one with a wireless connection.

Have you installed any free "Internet tool" suites recently? PC Doctor? AVG? Kapersky etc? They hate each other and could cause issues.

Clean the registry? Uninstall any un-needed software? Backup your data and do a complete reformat and reinstallation of Windows?
