Hey everyone,
It's been a while since I have been in the PC world and I have decided to hop back in. I have around a 1K budget on the tower. M/K and Monitor are in a separate budget, but I would appreciate input on them also. I have not kept up to much on Hardware so pretty much a blank slate at this point..

Looking for the best bang for the buck and around the 1K. I was thinking going intel/Nvidia, maybe i5/970 combo. I've read some people suggest a 390 for 1440p gaming. I'm not sure about crossing that line yet or if my budget would even allow it. The i5 seems to be the best bang for the buck as I don't think a huge amount of games are utilizing HT the i7 provides. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Best bang for buck CPU for gaming: Intel i5 Skylake
Best bang for buck RAM amount (imo): 8GB (2x4GB)
Best GPU for 1440p gaming: Hold for GTX 1070/1080 release. Too big to ignore.

Would aim for a decent i5 build with a GTX 1070m and a 250GB SSD.

Do you prefer an ITX, mATX, ATX build?

This would be an excellent build:
