Hello,

I am looking to up my gaming performance on modern games like Battlefield 4 and possibly Battlefield 1 in the future.

I currently have 1 GTX 760 that runs Battlefield 4 on high. The computer is a heater after an hour of gameplay. I will only be playing on 1080p gaming monitor, also.

Should I purchase an additional GTX 760 for SLI to keep up with future games? I would much rather SLI than buy a new GPU, too!

What can I expect for GTX 760 SLI for future gaming? Pros and Cons?

I found a great deal for another gtx 760 for $80, so I need an answer as fast as possible before it is sold.

Thanks!

I would suggest to wait for 1070 because it is one third the price of titan X and better in performance as claimed by Nvidia. So just install 1070 and you can wasily play all future games on ultra settings. Why settle for old sli technology when you can have a beast in 300$?

SLI or dual card setups in general always have the same pros and cons. Biggest con is still efficiency and optimisation; 2x the amount of stream processors doesnt generally mean you'll also reach double the framerate.

But 80 bucks for a GTX 760 seems a good deal, so I'd probably do it.

Also, the 1070 is supposedly more efficient, so less heat would be generated.

Is your power supply up to it, does your case have enough airflow, will the cards have any airgap between them and if not are they blower style coolers, do your games scale well with SLI?

I tried it once, ran into several of those issues, sold both cards and bought a single faster one and vowed not to do it again. Your mileage may vary.
