New Build Planned and Need Some Advice

Hello,

I'm planning my build at the moment, this will be my first home build and need some guidance with my components I've chosen, I'll link the list of components below.

Only factors are £1,000 ($1500) budget (no monitor, keyboard or mouse needed), it will be red themed, NZXT H440 Case and modular PSU.

Yes I can wait, but I want to see the 980 price drop will be first. Would 1070 be compatible with this build? And do you think that this is a good build for the money? What change or switch out anything?

Looks good overall, I'd change the mobo, won't touch MSI due to their poor QC. What all do you plan to use the rig for?

What motherboard would you recommend? I was also think ASUS, the build theme is red. It will be used for design work, 3D CAD work, gaming, recording and video editing.

I'd go the Asus Z170 Pro Gaming also, I was looking at it before jumping to the Hero

Yeah that was my second motherboard choice, I think that ASUS is a good banchmark for quality.
What do you think about the PSU? Is 760 overkill? I would a modular PSU too

Modular comes in handy, 760 might be a bit of overkill but will be fine, I like having some extra power

I agree and it's not too much more over the price of a 980. It's just have a feel is might not be available due to all the others they will get for it.
