Graphical glitches/anomalies then black screen and crashing

Hi, lately I've been experiencing some very frustrating in game glitches. What happens is, after a while of playing Rust, I begin experiencing graphical glitches or anomalies flashing across the screen. After a bit longer (sometimes 5 minutes, sometimes up to 40 minutes) the game freezes and the screen goes black and doesn't respond for about a minute or so which is when I receive the "Rust.exe is not responding" glitch and I force close it.

I do not overclock my card and I have fans set to 100% when playing rust. My drivers are also fully up to date. I have no idea what could be causing this. My FPS in game is also way above 60 if that is relevant in anyway. My PSU is not very reliable which is leading me to believe it's that. (I hope so as I am getting an 850G2 soon which I'm hoping will solve the problem).

I'd appreciate it if you could help me with a solution or a reason for this issue.

Thanks

Solution
Since you already get way above the FPS you require, try to downclock the GPU and set the lowest stable voltage possible. see if that works. Ideally you should open up the GPU and replace the thermal compound with a good quality one. It's not hard to do but if you are unsure.....just take it back to the repair store and tell him what you want do be done.

Okay, it seems that the black screen error occurs once the GPU Core temperature reaches 90 degrees Celsius. My card is an r9 290x Lightning. I know it can maintain high temperatures but I can't find exact numbers. My room temperature is also very warm as I live in a very warm country. If this is too hot, what can I do to fix it? AC is always on, I clean my PC regularly, I have a good fan and case. Not sure what else to do. Thanks. It takes about 2 hours for it to reach 90 degrees.

What are room temperatures over there?

90 degrees is not healthy for any electronics.
You should increase airflow in your case by adding some fans.
If that's not possible, then change the case to some high airflow model.
What's the brand/model name of your current case?

I currently have a thermaltake s71 urban. I just had my PC checked out by a PC building store and they said it was all fine and there wasn't a problem so I'm not sure as to what is causing the heat. What kind of fans do you mean?

Thanks for the reply :)

Yes, it does. So what do you think I should do? Considering a PC store told me that there is not an issue.
