TV turned on to show Samsung Smart TV logo then displayed the HDMI4 box I the top left corned, then switched itself off. This happened about 6 times before I gave up.
 
Solution
I would suspect a failure in the power board. If handy with a soldering iron, it's usually about $8 worth of capacitors to repair the board (you will need to look over the power board to locate any blown capacitors and find the replacement information)
If unsure about your soldering skills or not wanting to do that, replacement power boards should be available through eBay or Amazon or... (last Samsung TV I did, 32" model, cost $24 for the power board) and replacement simply consists of removing a few screws, opening the TV, removing some more screws and unplugging a few cables, putting the replacement board in, plugging the cables back in, replacing the back

Of course there's always the option of a local repair shop but I won't venture a guess as to cost
