I am looking to upgrade my current build soon:
Current Specs:
CPU:i7-4930K (OC to 4.5ghz)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master V8 GTS
Motherboard: Asus ROG Rampage IV Black Edition
RAM: 16Gbs Corsair Dominator Platinum 2400Mhz DDR3
GPU: Asus STRIX GTX 980
PSU: CORSAIR RM Series RM1000 1000W
SSD: SAMSUNG 840 EVO 2.5" 1TB x2
Case:Corsair Osidian 900D

I know for certain i will be upgrading to:
GPU: Asus STRIX GTX 980Ti x2 SLI (or 1080(Ti) x2 SLI)
CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro Series H115i
RAM: 32-64gb of Corsair Dominator Platinum 3000Mhz DDR4
SSD: Samsung 950 PRO Series - 512GB PCIe NVMe (and maybe another sata SSD)

However i am currently split between these two Motherboard/CPU pairings:
*All pairing will be OC
1)
CPU: i7-5960X(pricey i know)
MoBo: ASUS ROG STRIX X99 GAMING (just released/announced)

2)
CPU: i7-6700K
MoBo: ASUS ROG MAXIMUS VIII EXTREME

Cost isn't so much the concern as RAW Power and OC capability vs how long till ill need to upgrade again. Or any suggestions you have for the upgrade. Im not interested in the AMD fanboys telling me i should get AMD instead or EVGA over Asus..... my faith in Intel and Nvidia is unwavering as is my trust in ASUS.

Okay, if you are wanting to do a major upgrade, I would suggest going with the new broadwell 10 core 20 thread monster, on the x99 motherboard of your choice, then put a swiftech H-240X as it is better in all respects than the corsair h115i. I wouldn't go with more than 32GB of RAM as unless you plan on using the build for rendering or video editing, you won't need more until that build is obsolete. I wouldn't get the corsair dominator RAM, as it is overpriced for what it is, you can get RAM every bit as good for half the money you pay for the dominator. I would wait for the gtx 1080ti to be released and I would certainly recommend the samsung 850 PRO or the 800GB/1.2TB intel 750 series.
