Ok build a rig and I have a cat in my house, so I put my psu facing down so cat hair can't ever get in there. However, it is on carpet so I got some blocks of wood to raise it so I do not have a very expensive vacuum cleaner. I would say I have about an inch of clearance between my case and the carpet. Is that good enough?
