Hey guys,

I need some help (since I am not the best or experienced with computers)I wanted to update my BIOS. My BIOS is American Megatrends V4.1 26/04/2013 (VERY VERY OLD BIOS)
I downloaded the firmware updater in their official website, Picked AFUWin and 64 (I assumed 64 was for x64 computers, my computer is x64) I ran the firmware updater and then it froze in my desktop, I thought it was updating and so I gave it time, around 10 minutes later it was still frozen. I gave it another 10 minutes then it's still freezing. I restarted my computer and it never updated.

I would like someone to please help me and maybe send me an official instruction and link to the BIOS Update? Thank you !

i don't think there is a solution for bricking motherboard, that is why you only use one that matches your motherboard.

Now MSI has a program called Live Update 6, I would download that and use it to update bios

its on this page: here

if you don't have win 10 64 just select the windows version you do have from drop down list.

Is this a brand name pc or custom?

if brand name, what make/model
if custom, what motherboard do you have?

need to know one of those before knowing what is the latest bios for you. The BIOS matches your motherboard, you can't just dl any one, it has to be for your motherboard or you can brick your motherboard completely. I only update BIOS if I have to.

if you don't know either, download Speccy and run it. In the right hand window, can you tell me what it says under motherboard and I will have something to work with.
