I've been experiencing lag spikes in a few games since the usage of my new HDD.
I installed a brand new Windows 7 and everything, but I seem to have lag spikes in a few games, for example Witcher 3, GTA V even CS:GO at times.
My pc is perfectly capable of running all of them at max settings on the resolution I'm using, so lack of horsepower isn't the problem in this case.
The videocard , which is a GTX 960 2Gb, barely uses any Power in CS:GO, since I'm playing on 1024x768, all low settings. The processor usage goes from 45 to 70,(i5 2500).
Since the MAX consumption is around ~280W while playing CS:GO, I'm almost a 100% sure that this isn't a PSU related problem, although it'd be better(Corsair VS550).
I'm currently defragmenting the HDD, which is a WD Green Caviar 5400RPM 1Tb, assuming this is what's causing the lag spikes. It was around 22%, waiting for it to finish now.
Can someone suggest any help?
I'd be really thankful!
Thanks in advance.
