Hi. I'm planning to build a pc gaming rig and my budget is around $500-$550. Here is my build so far:

Processor: AMD FX-6300
Graphics Card: Nvidia GTX950 2GB DDR5
Motherboard: Gigabyte AM3+ Socket Motherboard
Memory: Crucial Ballistix 8gb RAM
Hard Drive: Seagate 1TB Hard Drive
Power Supply: Aerocool Strike-X 500W PSU
Computer Case: Corsair Carbide SPEC-01 Mid Tower Casing

Is my build good enough to run games like GTA V, Tomb Raider, Bioshock Infinite and other recent games? Do I need to replace any component? Any help would be gladly appreciated :)

Yeh this sounds good mind you im not pc expert but i was looking to get a pc with probably around the same specs as yrs the only thing different is the graphics card in which my own only had 1gb but a couple of ppl said it is a good starting build . Im pretty sure it can play those games pretty well. To prove my point we had school laptops that could run gta v @ 20 - 30 frames per second mind you it was not on the highest detail settings and it stuttered from time to time but it ran good enough to be playable. And a couple more things i hope you have the money for the operating system already set aside because i actually ended up making that mistake myself by not including the operating system in my budget .

For this price, this system will greatly outperform the AMD, also more upgradable. The am3 socket is a dead series. Soon to be replaced by am4. Also everything is better in terms of performance

@Argus Yup, I already have an operating system :)

@Ryan Thanks! Although I prefer to stay at the GTX 950. Also, will an i3 beat the fx-6300 in terms of overall cpu performance?

Gtx 950 does not perform as well as the 380. It is highly worth it to spend a little more to buy the 380, which easily stands toe to toe as the 960. And if we look at benches, the 950 SLI does not outperform a single 960. Maybe slightly off from the multicore, but that is not important, and overall the i3 will outperform the fx 6300 in games. You should also choose a high quality PSU. I have the included everything and the best performance/price at the moment. These components will give as much performance as the more expensive variants o the same stuff

Thank you for the replies! I would replace the FX-6300 with the I3-6100. I would like to replace the GTX 950 with the R9 380 but it is currently unavailable in our country so maybe I'll wait. Thank you once again!

instead of a r9 380, try seeing if the GTX 960 is available. it performs slightly better of you are willing to put like 15$ more into it.,
