Could the LEPA LV12 cooler possibly bend an i7 6700?

At 460 grams it's certainly not in the heavyweight class. 
The "bending issue" comes to play when the heatsink is mounted and pressure is applied to the processor for a good fit. the main weight of the cooler is transferred to the motherboard via the mounting brackets. If you take proper care to ensure a good, tight fit bit do not apply excess pressure, you should not have any problems.

That story is pretty much gone, I never really found out what was done, but it was always a small scale issue. Also as far as I know, Lepa was never involved, Scythe and some other company were the only ones that might have had some blame. you should not have to worry.
