Need help choosing CPU

Hello

I recently purchased a GTX 970 and I'm looking for components to upgrade along with it. I was looking at a AMD FX-8350 along with an MSI 970 mobo. However, I have gotten comments from peers that I should spend the extra money to get an Intel CPU. Is it really worth the extra money?

This completely depends on what games you will be playing and what applications you want to run, its true that Intel far surpasses AMD when it comes to single core processing power which is one of the most important factors while looking at FPS for most games, but if you want to stream or render videos then the higher core count of the FX-8350 will surpass an I5 processor. for an example about 7 months ago I exchanged my FX-8350 for an...

This completely depends on what games you will be playing and what applications you want to run, its true that Intel far surpasses AMD when it comes to single core processing power which is one of the most important factors while looking at FPS for most games, but if you want to stream or render videos then the higher core count of the FX-8350 will surpass an I5 processor. for an example about 7 months ago I exchanged my FX-8350 for an I5-6600k and my FPS in LOL went from 80-90fps upto 300+FPS that's due to single core power. but if I was to stream while playing Battfield 4 then the FX-8350 will perform better than the I5 will.
