Im trying to install Windows 7 on my M.2 drive but after the first reboot during installation it crashes on the 'Starting Windows' screen, I tried to install it on my SATA SSD and its works fine so the problem is with the M.2.

My system:
Intel 6600k
Asus B150 Pro Gaming/Aura MoBo
Samsung 950 PRO 250GB M.2 SSD
Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD
Corsair 2x4GB DDR4 2400MHz RAM
Corsair CX600M PSu

Would really appreciate the help.

I seen some stuff about Samsung's data migration software which I think I might be able to use with the 850 EVO that already has windows installed

Solution
Hi

Probably a driver problem in win 7 which is old technology compared. With M2 drives
Try win 8 or 10 instead or stick with ssd

It maybe possible to get round problem, if it is i am sure someone will point to a howto or faq

You might try using the free editon of Macrium Reflect to clone. When my Samsung 950 Pro would not boot after using the Samsung Data Migration software, it booted directly into Windows 7 immediately after being cloned with Reflect.
