Hello all,

I have been gaming on PC for around 2 years now and am wanting to build a new PC myself this time.

I have a budget of $1,500 so I decided to go ahead and get a build plan going. These are the parts I plan on getting as long as they will all work well and with each other.

Case: Phanteks Eclipse PH-EC416P_BK

Motherboard: MSI Gaming Z97

Power Supply: CORSAIR RM750X

Processor: Intel Core i7-4790K

Cooler: Corsair Hydro Series H100i
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA85V46P7396&ignorebbr=1

Graphics Card: MSI GeForce GTX 970 GAMING 4G
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127832&ignorebbr=1

Memory: G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231888&ignorebbr=1

Storage: SAMSUNG 500GB SATA III SSD (x2)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147373&ignorebbr=1

This build totals out to $1,470

Besides the operating system am I missing anything?

Can I use the same key code for the Windows 7 I am using now?

Also is it fine to run just two SSD's?

Thanks, Michael

You have everything covered, although IMO I would buy an EVGA 750 G2 over the RM 750X, or honestly even a 650 G2 is more than enough. The RM is good, but has had its issues.

And unless your Win 7 key was a retail copy no you can't use it over, you should go ahead and get yourself a copy of Win 10.

Finally, no reason to need a hard drive, 2 SSD's are fine. Just make sure you always back up your important data!

Thanks for the fast answer! I have a pre-built ASUS PC I bought off Newegg. It came with windows 7 HP, so thats a no.

Are there any other parts you would reccomend swapping due to problems?

Thanks again, Michael

Only other things I would say is only get that cooler if you plan on overclocking a lot. Otherwise a good air cooler will be quieter and 0 maintenance/worries (liquid coolers do leak sometimes).

Also if you can wait about a month the GTX 1070 is coming out which should be a significant performance boost over the GTX 970 for the same price.

A month wait is no biggy, thanks for the info on that! I do plan to overclock probably to 4.6gGHz or so.

Well I think thats about all my questions answered.

Thanks, Michael
