Hi guys,
I know there are millions of these posts. Bare with me.
I'm currently running a Radeon HD6850 with my AMD Phenom II x6 1075T. I've been using a Cooler Master Extreme Power Plus 500W. So after doing recent research I've learn it's pretty bad.
I am about to install a GTX680 to replace the HD6850 and I understand I'll need a much better PSU with higher amperage over the 12v rail.
I'd like advice on what PSU would be the better of these:
Seasonic M12II 80 Plus Bronze Modular Power Supply - 520W
FSP Aurum S 600Watt Power Supply
I've read good things about the seasonic but i'm not too sure about the FSP. Can anyone give some advice?
Cheers,
A.

Your current PSU is not a fire hazard, you won't damage the card.

As for the Seasonic, it will definitely power that card properly.

FSP is decent however Seasonic is the best in the business. I would always take a Seasonic over any other.
As for the power needs they are always inflated a bit to make up for people having crappy PSUs, the Seasonic will more than have you covered.

Okay well then I like the sound of the seasonic as it's modular. However it does advertise only 20 amps over the 12V rail. Is this sufficient?
One more thing, could I damage the card if I try it with my current PSU?

Thanks buddy. Will give it a try. If the card runs fine, is there any point of upgrading PSU?

Yes, that CM is still a low quality PSU, eventually (sooner than later) it will wear that PSU down that you will have stability issues. Or it will just fail. Likely won't damage anything but still not fun and can corrupt your hard drive.
