Pretty much the title is the new chipset (1151-pin) Skylate 6700k compatible with Intel Haswell-E Socket 2011-3 pin Motherboards (DDR4 Only) (Asus X99-A Motherboard?

Sorry Im a noob just want to make sure before i spend a lot of cash.

If not what would be the next best motherboard to use. I do both video rendering and gaming so a balance of both worlds would be great and something ASUS i usually trust. I plan on keeping this build for atleast 3-5 years.

Thanks i was looking at this one https://www.pccasegear.com/products/32856?gclid=Cj0KEQjw3-W5BRCymr_7r7SFt8cBEiQAsLtM8r_aLnOomFIA_aCIBc1zVs62s-iec7Mj2cs5vm0SwE0aApEr8P8HAQ&gclsrc=aw.ds

I can get this one for $350 or Z170-PRO-GAMING for $100 less in my country. I noticed on a comparison the maximus has much more avaiable ports and options possibly better for future hardware ? Do you think its worth $100 more?
Money isn't too much of an issue since every build lasts me 3-5 years but wondering if there is a big and worth the difference.

Here is the comparison http://motherboards.specout.com/compare/6265-6304/ASUS-MAXIMUS-VIII-EXTREME-vs-ASUS-H170-PRO-GAMING For $100 more it seems worth it but I'm not that knowledgeable compared to some of you guys when it comes to these things.

I will also probably buy the new SSD 950 pro so i heard you need a certain type to support it.

Thanks again

I see you are in australia, the second board is an H170 board which cannot overclock. I would recommend the following board it has an M2 sata port* When the M.2 Socket 3 is operating in SATA mode, SATA port 1 will be disabled.

Otherwise the Maximus is a good board but overpriced imo.
