Hello my disk has become raw

I have tried the following command to fix the errors via run as administrator CHKDSK

Code:
C:\Windows\system32>chkdsk H: /f /r /x
The type of the file system is NTFS.
Volume label is drive_H.

Stage 1: Examining basic file system structure ...

File record segment 292244 is unreadable.

File record segment 292245 is unreadable.

File record segment 292246 is unreadable.

File record segment 292247 is unreadable.

File record segment 304868 is unreadable.

File record segment 304869 is unreadable.

File record segment 304870 is unreadable.

File record segment 304871 is unreadable.

  1719296 file records processed.

File verification completed.

  7976 large file records processed.

  8 bad file records processed.

Stage 2: Examining file name linkage ...

An unspecified error occurred (6672732e637878 56f).

C:\Windows\system32>

However as can be seen it gives error : An unspecified error occurred (6672732e637878 56f).

Then i have downloaded open source software TestDisk 7.0

By using TestDisk software i am able to copy the files successfully, however, i don't have enough space to copy all files

So i have to fix this RAW state of the disk

Any help is appreciated

Windows 8.1 x64

I am able to copy the files however still the window is not seing the disk

It shows but the disk is RAW and i want to fix this raw state

Can you help me? Ty

the disk is Samsung HD204UI

Can't say I did copy-pasted anything, @MonsterMMORPG! :D I do read your posts, it's a good thing that you copied your data somewhere else, however, there's no escaping the reformatting of your HDD if you wish to use it.
You simply won't be able to use the drive or access it for that matter in the RAW state through Windows OS.
As already mentioned, RAW format indicates corrupted file system. This means that it doesn't have any file system from which Windows can read or write data to. You won't be able to access it from any other Windows OS either, while it's in that RAW state.
In order to fix the RAW file system format, you will have to REFORMAT the HDD. During the reformatting process you will be able to assign a file...

I tried to fix via TestDisk but it didnt work

maybe i am doing wrong can you explain step by step?

Welcome, MonsterMMORPG!

I'd second what @Popatim mentioned and advise you to always make sure you backup your data somewhere off-site before tampering with the storage (including testing it). Unfortunately, if TestDisk didn't help, you might want to consider using the HDD's brand-specific diagnostic tool to check up on the health and SMART status. You should be able to find it on the HDD manufacturer's official website or you can refer to some third-party alternative suggestions from the forum.

The RAW format indicates that the file system on your drive got corrupted. If the files you have on it are pretty important, I'd strongly recommend you to get in touch with a professional data recovery company for assistance.
You should definitely make sure the hard drive is healthy and its SMART attribute values are normal, potentially, any data retrieving attempts by yourself could be fatal for your files!

Keep us posted with the troubleshooting.

I am able to copy the files

For example i copied an entire folder and it copied over 350000 different files only 3 of them failed

However the disk has become raw and i have to fix this state

the disk is Samsung HD204UI

Good job then, @MonsterMMORPG! You should consider yourself lucky, though, and make sure you backup your files on regular basis.
Now that you have your files safe and sound stored elsewhere, you would be able to use the HDD's full capacity once you reformat the drive and get it back to its healthy file system. Keep in mind that in order to get your HDD's RAW state back to NTFS file system will require you to erase all the data you currently have on the drive.
You should be able to reformat & re-partition the HDD through Disk Management, though.

I'd still keep in an eye on the health and S.M.A.R.T. status using a HDD-specific diagnostic utility.

Hope it helps. Good luck!

WOW can you please reply me back without copy paste answer :D

why windows can not see the drive while testdisk can see and copy do operations?
why this such tiny software is much more capable than windows 8.1?

i hope you do read this and reply that way. I want to fix RAW state because appareantly disk is still working. i dont want to format the entire disk

In order to fix the RAW file system format, you will have to REFORMAT the HDD. During the reformatting process you will be able to assign a file system that would allow you to access the capacity of the drive. The best thing to do is to make sure your files are safe and sound, stored on a different drive or storage device.

The software that you used to retrieve your files is a data recovery software, for which I suggest you read more about here.

I also recommended you to test the HDD using a diagnostic utility because those chkdsk results in your opening post could be indicating that your hard drive is failing.

Best of luck, though! Hope this was helpful. :)
