So the other day i had a defective motherboard so before it went off on one and broke it worked perfectly fine
i got a replacement one today install it all cpu ram everything but the pc powers on (fans hdd watercooler gpu) but it just doesnt post or boot!!
iv done everything but i think i have narrowed dow the problem!!
the psu 8pin cpu connector thing it may have came loose or the motherboards connections is rubbish
i have tried the same powersupply on my older motherboard that didnt post either
i also found a weird thing i know its a little naughty i know but it was only for 3 seconds i left the heat sink off on both cpus in the same system (at different times obv) my older cpu got warm a little well i think but my new one didnt
but then again it didnt work or post on my old motherboard
pc specs
mobo: asrock 990fx ext 6
cpu : amd fx 9590 (underclocked it)
psu : corsair semi mod 550w
ram: cruical ram 1600h
just want some help narrowing down the problems so i dont spend loads of money on something that isnt needed

cmos reset
ram
gpu
changed cpu
used psu on other motherboard (didnt work on other motherboard)
rebuild the whole system
cried a little
