PC Slows down when downloading!

Hey guys! so recently i've been experiencing a problem with my PC where every time i download a game on Steam & or Origin my pc gets extremely slow till the point where its not even usable, this was never happening before it just started randomly. I really need help to get this solved thank you guys. Every time i press download it just gets extremely choppy and slows down but once i pause it my PC gets back to normal.

Have you installed any new hardware lately ?

A slight long shot but worth a try. If all else is failing.

Check you have the latest chipset drivers for your motherboard installed. It almost sounds like some bad choices on IRQ sharing is causing lots of interrupt requests with the more data your network adapter is dealing with. An updated IRQ routing table might magically fix everything.

I haven't seen that issue in over 10 years however. And really shouldn't happen at all these days.

I have no problems with my connection I'm connected directly to my router. Its most likely my PC my disk usage goes to 20 MB's when downloading, im currently trying to download a game but i cant because i completely lag and cant do something else!

Open task manager. If your hard drive is at 100%, it means it's getting overwhelmed.
Run http://crystalmark.info/download/index-e.html to see the state of the drive and post back.

Disk usage will defiantly kill everything if your Downloading and trying to play off the same Spinner, you can always set up a USB 3.0 Flash drive and download to that, they are cheap as dirt at the moment and falling fast.

No it stays around 50% usage when downloading
