Used GTX 980 for $550 AUD or New for $650

Just recently got about $850 AUD and my plan was to get an ASUS GTX 980 Strix new for $650 AUD and get an RM650X for $165 AUD. Now i see a deal for an MSI (i would much prefer this) GTX 980 on Ebay for $550 AUD free postage and i know it's at most, 10 months old so im not sure if its worth it especially since the 1080 and 1070 will come out and should lower the new price greatly anyway.
What do i do?

btw, prices in USD are:
New ASUS GTX 980 - $477.63
Used MSI GTX 980 - 404.15

I'd wait until the 1080 comes out and pick up a 980 Ti second hand, or new if the prices drop enough.

Much better performance for the money you'd be spending.

Edit: I should add that a friend of mine sold his 980 Ti for $800 in anticipation of the 1080 coming out. I imagine there will be a lot of people doing a similar thing, which should hopefully mean supply > demand, lowering the overall second-hand price for 980 Ti's

Just because im using a 1080p monitor right now and if a 980 and a 980ti seems overkill for that then a 1070 will be over OVER kill.
Part of why im being impatient now probably comes from the fact im using a gtx 570 right now and its alright but i want to play the newest games in comfort.
