Hard drive inaccessible after canceling chkdsk

Hey!

I was running chkdsk on my laptops hard drive with my desktop. Chkdsk got stuck, so I had to cancel it. After that the hard drive became inaccessible, and I can't take ownership of it. I tried the command takeown /F, but it says access denied. Same thing if I try entering the hard drives properties and try to change the owner there. It just says "Unable to set new owner. Access denied".

The hard drive had problems booting on my laptop, so I decided to make a backup and then run chkdsk. I got all the files safe, so I figured I'd format the drive, but without access it can't be done.

Does anyone have any advice? I'm fairly new when it comes to fixing computers, so if I failed to give all the information needed, please let me know.

was chkdsk finding issues? If so, the drives dead. Dump it. Even if you get it to come back, it'll most likely continue to throw errors at you. I wouldn't rely on it for anything.

I restarted and it has now been stuck for 20 minutes in starting windows screen. Should I wait longer?

Also, D: is an older drive which I took out to get the laptops drive in. It has been working fine earlier and I assume it still would if I were to put it back in.

I got my pc up and running, but D: and R: volumes are not recognized any more and they can't be found in disk management. It's probably okay to assume that the drive is dead?

Disk management is now completely the same than earlier, except there is no R:, K:, or D: to be found (with the laptops hard drive plugged in). I tried plugging in my second hard drive ( D: ) and it works perfectly fine.

So I can't show the hdtune health section, as the drive cannot be found anymore (even though it's plugged in).
