Need a gpu for bf4

Solution
Well the GTX 970 is much more powerful then the R9 380 so the 970 is a much better choice. As far as the R9 390 its very close in performance to the GTX 970 but will use much more power although as long as you don't overclock you should be fine with that PSU (VIA Extreme PSU Calculator). IMO for about 30 more pounds I would wait (if possible) for the GTX 1070 that will be coming out in June as its supposedly much faster then both the GTX 970 and R9 390 and would work perfect for that PSU.

I run a 290X and BF4 plays on ultra with that (1080p monitor) so the 8Gb 380 will be fine.

In accordance to Willdobbo - Get Windows 10, AMD's basically double their performance under DX12 and the operating system runs with less computing overheads.

Also went through your parts list - ditch the TP-Link wireless card for another (I had one and it was the biggest piece of @#$% ! Grab a ASUS wifi card, what i replaced my TP-Link (piece of @#$% with http://www.asus.com/au/Networking/PCEAC68/ - much better reception). RAM - BF4 runs 64bit mode, double it to 16Gb to take advantage. Plus you will be using roughly half of your RAM in background processes. You do have a 64bit version of Windows?

PS not so sure on Powercolor as a brand?

@Jimmy_DA, there is no 8gb version of the R9 380. I think your thinking of the R9 390 which is 8gb VRAM.

@musab robbani, Any GPU you've listed (GTX 970/R9 380/R9 390) would be enough to play BF4, but considering if the PowerColor R9 390 8gb is on sale/cheap then I would go for that one. And yes the other posters are right, if you want to take advantage of DX12 you will want to upgrade to Windows 10 if what you posted is your current build. Its a free upgrade for Windows 7/8/8.1 users.

Good pick-up @WildCrad999 - yes you are right, got the 380 and 390 mixed up!

Whats the price diff between 380 > 390?

Also could wait for 1070 release but then could wait for whatever is next after that. Depends how patient you are. Though one benefit of waiting for the next gen cards is more time to save???
