SSD in ultrabay (Lenovo y500) not recognised

Solution
Hey there, Radovan_1.

So it seems like the drive is properly recognized when not used with this SSD/HDD caddy. This means that there might be a problem with the caddy and not the drive. However, I'd still recommend that you test the SSD for errors with a diagnostic tool, by connecting it with the SATA to USB adapter again. You should also change it's drive letter with a different one from A or B.

You shouldn't have to do anything much more than connect the SSD in order to be able to see it in Disk Management, so I'd recommend that you try a different drive (if you have that option) with that SSD/HDD caddy, to see if the same thing happens. You could also check the caddy manufacturer's website for driver updates.

Hope that helps...
