now that we got the reviews of the card,do you think ill get a bottleneck with the i7 2600K oc to 4.4GHZ?

Solution

No. [strike]And if you do, you can overclock it.[/strike]
Regardless, as games move onto DX12, that CPU will even better.

What would you upgrade to if the i7-2600k OC'd to 4.4GHz turned out to be a bottleneck? Modern Intel CPUs would only be 10-20% faster, not enough to make much of a difference.

Aside from the most CPU-intensive games or playing at frame rates beyond 60Hz with AS/Gsync/vsync-off, most will still be happy with an i5-2500 driving a GTX1080, or even a pair of 'em.

Cheers for the answers, had been wondering/worrying about this as well, as my good ol' reference GTX 690 (I know, it's a mini-nuclear reactor in terms of heat generation) is reaching silly temperatures, even for it (peaks to 90/86°C at times in FO4, lingers at 82/80°C most of the time), and had been pondering if I should upgrade once the GTX 1080 comes about.

Just to clarify, though, what if the i7 2600k wasn't overclocked, but at it's standard 3.8Ghz, would it bottleneck a GTX 1080 notably then?
