Hello!

I have a decent gaming pc: Intel Xeon e5440, 4gb ram, r7 360, asrock g41m-gs3. I can play witcher 3 on it 1920x1080 medium with no problems at all, 45-60fps. But I noticed that the 4gb is dying out really fast. Games such as Fallout 4 and newer games require at least 6gb ram, and 8 gb recomended. I can't upgrade my ram with this motherboard so if I want to upgrade i have to buy a new motherboard, processor, and ram. I was looking for a Skylake build. An Intel core i3 6100, 8gb ddr4 ram and an ASRock B150M Pro4S. Would this build give me a slightly better performance than the current one?Is it a good time to upgrade now or should i wait? Should I save until i have enough money for an i5?

An update is overdue. That platform and processor are holding you down.
A skylake build is definitely teh way to go and your component choices are sound.
now, while an i5 is definitely a better proposition that will last you longer, i would instead go for the i3 and try to save for a better GPU beacuse with that 360 you would see no difference whatsoever between the two processors.
