Hey, i'm trying help my bro out with an issue he's struggling with and here's what he told me that happened; He was casually playing some league of legends, his headphone cord got stuck under his chair or w/e which caused his pc to almost fall over but it didn't happen, it just took a "small" hit what he said. while this happened his pc died and now has a Blinking CPU light in his motherboard every 10 secs it blinks rapidly twice.

We've tried a few things such as unplugging power cables, RAM's, not too sure if it could be an issue with GPU eventhough there's still integrated graphics in his pc?

P.S; NOTHING happens when you try to power on the PC, literally everything that happens is red CPU Light blinks every 10 secs on the mobo. THANKS in advance..

PS.PS; Here's some specs; I5-6600k, Z170A PC Mate, LGA1151, Intel Z170, DDR4, ATX , XFX 550W core edition ATX 80+ bronze, CPU cooler hyper x 212 evo, 8gb of ddr4 hyperx 2133mhz & an old GTX 670, planning on upgrading that as soon as 1000 series come out.

Red flashing light is CPU overvoltage from what I can see. A few things can cause that, check your power connections to the board. CHeck the unseated CPU as well that could still do it. If not his power supply may have been damaged.

Lets get the system specs.

That said blinking red CPU light is bad, I would imagine the hit was harder than your brother said. He possibly unseated the CPU.

You should remove the cooler and check that the CPU is still installed properly, then re-check every connection, and re-install the cooler properly.

EDIT: Ok I see the specs, if the cooler wasn't installed well it could have loosened up, that would be bad. But I doubt it.

Mobo manual says; CPU - indicates cpu is not detected or fail.

Ok. Its highly unlikely the CPU is broken, but that is a possibility.

Well, i took the time and took over his pc to my room, i literally deconstructed the whole pc, found out nothing wrong, except a mild overdose of thermal paste... wiped most of it off, there was some even on top of the cpu cooler for whatever reason, that was the first pc he ever self built so meh.. i re-assembled it all and it works now, many thanks :)
