Hello! I hope this topic is in right section, if not I'm sorry about that.

I'm trying to make home minecraft server for me and few of my friends. I used to to this with no problems when I had Huawei modem. Now my ISP have changed gear and I have ZTE ZXHN H208N and I dont have a clue how to port forward. I did find port forward option under application options but I don't know how to set it properly. I'm the only one able to connect to the server because I'm localhost. Here's the image of ZTE: http://imgur.com/XiTxktJ

Before we get into the port forwarding, question for you. If you want others to join your Minecraft server from outside your network, you need a static IP address, do you have one?

From there, port forwarding needs to be done in your firewall or router. If you are going to open your network up to the public (which you would have to do to allow others to join your server), I would recommend a firewall (Cisco ASA, Dell SonicWall, etc).

Well I was making it before without any special firewalls or anything like that. I have static IP which is 192.168.1.2 or 1.1 or 1.5 depends. And I also have other IP which is for example 33.236.313.267. Which one do I need? And yes my friends are not on same LAN. And that picture is from my router settings, I just don't know how to set it up correctly. Before I had to give my IP to my friends and they were able to connect (HUAWEI router) but now with ZTE I don't know how to open ports lol.

If you did it before and had no firewall, your network was open to attack. These are the things you need to think about before hosting something to the public.

The 192.168 addresses are internal, these are not what I mean. The 33.236 address is what I meant. Is your public IP address static? The ones you get from an ISP are usually not, you have to specifically request these. If it's not static, it won't permanently work.

For configuring your router, you need see what ports you need to make available for public access. I would imagine if you spend some time on Google with Minecraft server setup, you would get what you need. As far as configuring your HUAWEI router for it, I have not worked with that interface, so I am really not sure.

Well my public IP is not static and it changer every 8 hours I think. I asked ISP about that and that was their answer. For ports I use 25565 which is Minecraft most common port. Should I use some other and which one?
