Hi guys,

For the first time, I am building my own PC and there are certain small issues I am facing.

I am ordering an ASUS motherboard which is a micro ATX.

Also, the casing which I will buy, mentions that it accepts both microATX and ATX motherboards, from the specifications. Hence my motherboard should fit well into this PC casing and everything seems fine up to now.

However, after I read a couple of times that the motherboard holes do not align with the stand-offs of the casing in some situations, I decided to investigate further.

I had a look at the a picture of the motherboard topview with the holes. Also, I had a look a picture of the side panel of the PC casing where the motherboard will be fixed with the stand-offs for the micro ATX... and from my estimates, I can see that the motherboard holes really do not align with the casing micro ATX stand-offs!!!

What should be done in such situations? Please help me. Is it a good idea to use such PC casings?

Regards

Solution
They will align perfectly as The CM Force 500 page clearly says "microATX, ATX"..

PCPArtpicker.com page says, "No issues/incompatibilities found"..

dont panic!!! it because asus uses a lot of foam on there io shields that the mb is not lining up. first make sure the io shield is locked in. it should click when it in all the way. when you look at it you be able to tell it locked in. after it locked in do a test fit make sure non of the metal is going to short the mb ports or the mb out. if the dry fit is fine. use a metal tip screw driver...magnetize it or pick one up from auto parts store. (keep the mb screws from falling off with you trying to push the mb in). dont want one of those screws falling into the power supply or losing it the case. if you have a friend or family member have them push the mb into the foam till the screws line up. then connect then 4 sides first then the middle screws.

No.. NO.. If the motherboard is a standard form-factor, say MicroATX and the case webpage says it supports Microatx, it will guaranteed align -- No Question..

The fact that same case also supports ATX board also means you will have to leave out a few holes/screws when fixing a Micro-atx board.. If u give the name of the board and case, we can say without any doubt if it will fit or not..
