Will i5 3570k CPU Bottleneck the GTX 1070?

Solution

It absolutely will not bottleneck, a 3570k with a bit of overclock is equivelent to a 4690k which is still brand new selling, current high end gaming CPU which in itself is close to the 6600k also.

You will be totally fine. It will handle any GPU, it still has 4 quite fast cores. A 2nd gen not overclocked might see some loss in performance. But not a 3570k

ignore this comment lol. your fine, odds are(my guess) it will perform close to or a little slower than the 980ti. your good to go in most games without any issue, even then if there is a problem it will be minimal

6950x is out soon which is the only cpu fast enough to game at a resoonable frame rrate. More core is way better than faster cpu so maybe you need a 6-core at least. Amd 8350 is about the best cpu can get under $550

Amd is not as bad as people say unless were talking about intel which is the only other company able to challenge amd in the cpu arena for games but frame rate isnt everything frame time matters way more but its wicked gard to get an fcat machine so it doesnt matter to most people. Main point: get amd for faster games with less money

For gaming, a lowly i3 6100 will outperform an FX 8350 in all but a handful of games, and even then, it's very close. It's cheaper, more efficient, and has upgrade potentional where the FX doesn't.

Thank you for your answer, I think I will just keep the CPU and upgrade my GPU, this will save me lots of money :)

You were just telling someone to do some research and apparently you need to. 6950x is broadwell so will be less ipc than current skylake and the extra cores aren't going to help. I'll even use my 2500k with a 1080 because it's not going to be a bottleneck with it oced. Amd maybe cheap, but it's 5 years old and if you want something that old, buy used and a 2600k of the same era is better.

Nvidia already put amd almost outta business once. The 1080 is just their shiny new nail for the coffin they plan for amd. Aint got no idea what polaris or zen are packing tho so might be quite the surprise for nvidia
