I suffered a 'brown-out', but SSD was still operational until I rebooted to satisfy Updates on Win 7 Ultimate ... Now all I get is Black Screen on boot telling me to select boot device, and it won't let me repair Windows with the Original Install Disk ...

Solution
Take the SSD out and test it in another PC if possible. It's possible that it's died on you. If it still works, then explore other options, but right now it seems like the SSD.

Thank you so much for responding !
I checked out the SSD in another PC and read, then saved (backed up) my current data ...
The drive is alive, tho not well enough to boot OR to allow me to repair it with the Original Win 7 Ultimate (OS) disk ...
So now .. I would really love to know of some 'other options' ...

Well I mean if the ssd is in good enough shape to get data off, copy everything you need to storage of some kind, then you'll probably need a new ssd. You might be able to reuse the old operating system if you still have the activation key.

Hope you get it figured out. SSDs tend to be sensitive to electrical problems. You might invest in a UPS of some sort to help prevent this from happening again.

So, what you are saying .. is that there is no way to rebuild the MBR on the SSD ? Not even to completely reformat, then re-install ?
I had bought a new UPS at Cosco .. but later found that it was unadvised to use it, as it was not the 'phased' type to match my fancy SeaSonic Active PFC power supply ...
but yes, I will be getting a UPS .. and now .. (cry) a new SSD too ??

The Black Screen that appeared on my reboot attempt read as ..

The system found unauthorized changes on the firmware, operating system, or UEFI drivers.
Press [N] to run the next boot device, or enter BIOS Setup ...

Which is why I didn't think that there was that much damage .. especially when it works fine on 'piggyback' ...
