i currently have an msi 650 boost with 2 gb ram in my computer, and i have a gt 7600 just lying around. If i dedicate the 7600 to physX, will it help or hinder my system?

will the 7600 survive without the fan? its really loud and i feel like i have decent enough airflow in the system...
