Well I suggest you set the hard disk sleep time to 0 (Never)
To get there
In the contol panel navigate to power options
Click edit power plan

Or type this path in your control panel address bar located at the top
"Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options\Edit Plan Settings"

then press "change advanced power settings"
then open the drop down menu of the "Hard Disk"
by simply pressing the small plus signto its left

in "turn off the hard Disk after"
change the time to 0
press enter
this should help you

Please make a hard shut down by pressing the power button for about 10 seconds holding it untill every thing is off complety or by removing the power cord since it is completly unresponsive
This situation is worse than removing the power cord suddenly
