on my AMD phenom iix4 810,6Gb ram(3x2Gb) i buy 3x4Gb DDR2 to replace the 3x2Gb DDR2 240pin.i want to know if i have to change the 4th barrette,the small one?
and what is the purpose of that barrette?
 
Solution
The motherboard will be the final determiner. But usually you will want to use MATCHING* pairs of memory in like colored slots for best results. Some boards will not allow dual channel memory mode if the pairs are not identical. Test your system by trying both matching sticks in the same color slots first. If all is good, add the other single stick in one of the other color slots. Finally add the odd size stick in the final slot. You will know soon enough if it will work.

*That's why dual channel memory is sold in matching pairs.

Barette =the ram bar. :)sorry i am french i have 3 x4gb and a4th one is Like a half one i would Like to know if i have to change it also because it dosen't work if i change only the 3x2gb by 3x2gb.

I don't know The Mother board is were can i fin it?
Cpu is am3
Video is Gt620
On the Mother board We have 4 slot for the ram 2yellow and 2blue in one of the blue slot the ram bar is half of three others do i have to change it too, if i change the others to double m'y ram
