Are 10k rpm HDD's worth it?

Thinking of doing a new build and if I did I was considering going with a 10K rpm HDD but is it worth it. They are a good bit more expensive than a 5k or 7200k rpm hard drive and with SSD's getting cheaper I don't know if it's really worth the price.

Solution

Compared to an SSD? No way!
Get an SSD for the OS and a lazy HDD for media storage.

i would say not they are not very large and they are pretty expensive. I would just go with a SSD or if you need very fast storage you can raid SSD. Just don't update the BIOS with a RAID it will kill the RAID.

I already have a 128 gig SSD which I would use for Windows itself so the I guess what I was thinking was if it was worth a 10k HDD instead of 7200 rpm drive for everyday storage for gaming. From what everyone is saying it doesn't sound like it is wortth price to performance
