I had an idea of a PSU shroud, but will this work?

I really want to make a PSU shroud but I really don't know how to do it but I have an idea.
I want it to be around 804 CM squared, just a top wall and a side wall (as shown in the imgur album). I don't know how to attach it yet but I'm thinking about using some 3M velcro tape on the PSU and on the inside of the shroud. I'm making it out of aluminium or steal, bending it will be easy as a relative is a smith and has the tools.
TL;DR will I be able to attach the PSU shroud with 3M velcro to the PSU?

Hi
Yes that would probably work or you could try these adhesive pads ; http://
Each pad will support 3 pounds.
Just noticed you spelled it aluminium so you are probably a Brit so this link may be better ; http://

Does it need to be mounted at all? It is just going to sit in the bottom of a desktop...

Sticky velcro is a good choice though. Or these neat things: http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/Adhesives/Tapes/Brands/Dual-Lock-Reclosable-Fasteners/

All plastic so there isn't that felt like material that will create dust.

4 clamps, a table, and a straight piece of wood (or square tubing) is all the tools you need to make a decent 90 degree bend in a piece of sheet metal. I assume your relative has a more advanced press brake? That would get you a nice tight bend, but aluminum can crack if bent too sharply. Steel is a little more forgiving.

Well, sadly I'm not a Brit but I do have a home improvement store so I can get what ever double tape I would need, thanks anyways!

He has some hydraulic press thing, tbh i have no idea but he said he could help me with a 90 degree bend in a steel plate. But what I'm unsure about is how to stick it to the PSU, right now I have the idea of using a couple of magnets from hard-drives but that has anot obviously flaw...
Thanks anyways!
