So for a while i have been saving to upgrade from a basic PNY GTX 610 graphics card with 2GB of gddr3 ram. While this if fine for light gaming i would like to get more into heavier gaming. I wanted to get a MSI radeon r7 4g gaming graphics card with 4GB of gddr5 ram witch would be a huge upgrade for me and a great addition to my new gaming rig. Here is my issue though. I have recently really been enjoying video editing and wanted fast high capacity storage. I wanted to but a Samsung T3 500GB ssd but it costs the about the same as buying the graphics card. Now i can't decide what i should buy. I have a few external hard drives like the WD my passport but for video editing it is not fast enough and would be scared to travel with it in case it breaks. Any suggestion would be SUPER appreciated!

For video editing, a very small SSD will do because it's just the program itself that needs to be on the SSD. The files associated with your project can be on a slower HDD without slowing down performance. However, if I had to choose between the two, I would get the SSD now and get the GPU as soon as I can afford it. The SSD will also help games load faster, but won't increase average FPS unless your HDD is literally a century old.

there is a r7-240, r7-250, r7-360 and r7-370 I am guessing your going with an r7-370 since that is the only r7 that has 4gb vram. That gpu isn't really suited for video editing. depending on what your using it will do well in gaming.

Sorry yes i mean't the 370

Well the 370 will be an improvement in the gaming improvement, but he's right that it's not really suited for video editing. To be honest, none of the Rx 3xx series is really good at video editing. I have trouble with my two R9 280Xs

Edit: will be an improvement in the gaming department
