I have owned a Netgear N600 as a replacement for my DSL modem provided by Verizon. After two years of using the modem with some technical issues, a new problem has emerged where after I turned on the modem, all the lights that are located in the front of the router are all green, indicating that it is connected to the Internet with none of them are red. But as I start up my computer, the system did not detect an active wireless connection. The same thing happened on a laptop, and as well as the Roku. However, I do not encounter this problem when using an Android tablet as I am able to access the Internet with no problems through its 5G channel, and when I access the Roku's network settings, it only lists my router with a 5G connection(i.e. NETGEARxx-5G), not the regular connection which is located on the 2.4Ghz channel.

After many attempts at disconnecting and reconnecting the router, I performed a factory reset by placing the end of a paperclip into a tiny hole and held it for a few seconds while the router is on. Then I had to reconfigure the wireless settings via the NetGear Genie, and the Internet connection is restored, but barely. That is because my router is located in the second floor next to my main computer where I can only access and the Roku player located in the same floor, but when I tried to connect to the Internet using my laptop and my other Roku in the first floor of the house(living room), it does not detect a Wifi signal, however I can still access the Internet on my Android tablet anywhere in the house despite the router not transmitting the 2.4Ghz signal.

I then moved the router to the first floor of the house and reconfigured everything, and the problem seemed to go away, I can connect to the Internet anywhere in the house as well as stream Netflix and Hulu using the Roku player. But the next morning after I turned on the router, none of the devices are detecting the Wifi signal except for the Android tablet which picks up 5G. However, after performing the factory reset procedure and reconfiguring the router, then all of my devices can pick up the Wifi signal.

With this problem becoming too frequent, does it signal that the router needs to be replaced?
