How do I fix my MOBO getting stuck on q code AE after Windows 7 Updates

My boyfriend built a computer about a year and a half ago. Tonight he did some updates for his os (Windows 7) it downloaded them, went to restart his computer did that fine, was configuring them, reboot itself again and now it won't get past Q Code AE. His motherboard is an ASUS Z97 pro with wifi accessory. He has tried to change the boot order in the bios. That didn't do anything.

Ok, I don't know what's "Q Code AE", but I hope you've set a recovery point before updating. Start your comp in secure mode, set it back to this last recovery point.
Then check out the updates if you need them really and do them one by one.
I just put together a new comp for a friend with his "Win 7 ultimate", it had even no service pack one and I did all updates till ~ april 2016, downloaded from winfuture without any problem.
