How do you get a very large hard drive storage Ultra-large producers of magnetic storage products to do the right thing and give me my money they owe me. 3 months ago I bought a 3 Terabyte magnetic hard drive and it failed after only running 1 week. Instead of replacing the drive after I mailed it back to Toshiba on my dime, Toshiba emailed me back and told me instead of replacing the drive they would send me a debit card for the retail price that I could do with whatever I wanted. Here 2 months later I still have not gotten the money yet. Speaking to Toshiba representative I was told Toshiba's bank was backed up with an overwhelming amount of refunds to send for other failed hard drive owners. I asked HOW MANY hard drives did they have failing? I just want my money or preferably a replacement hard drive. Does anybody else have this problem? Just how long are they going to string me along before they pay me. Any tips for me out there to help me? Is Toshiba trying to defraud me? Hope I go away so they wont pay?

I haven't heard anything much about Toshiba drives failing any more than others.

Are you sure you're talking to official Toshiba reps? There's lots of third parties trying to claim to be various companies that then scam you. Check any phone numbers you call are somewhere on the toshiba website.

Are they disputing that the drive is actually faulty, or just taking forever to pay you?

This does sound very unusual. I have never heard of a company sending a debit card as reimbursement. You are right, no "Ultra-large producers of magnetic storage products" would say things like this. The mention of a debit card sound VERY fishy. I agree with <above> it sound like there is a scam, maybe unintentional maybe not.
