I have a custom built PC with the following specs:
AMD A4-6300 APU with Radeon HD 8370D Graphics
Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
Gigabyte F2A58M-DS2 Motherboard
1x 4GB Kingston RAM

I am planning to upgrade RAM because I read many articles that say that AMD APU's benefit more RAM therefore giving more graphic performance. Also there are weird times that even if the computer is in idle, the RAM usage is high as far as 2.7 GB (3.19 GB usable memory) so i figured out maybe upgrading my RAM will make my PC run more stable. And sad to say I am low on funds considering that I am still a student. I am looking at a 2GB Samsung DDR3 RAM that my classmate sells. Will this setup enable dual channel mode? What are the Pros and Cons of this kind of setup? Thank you

The AMD APU benefit primarily from high speed ram (2133 mhz for example), so the built-in GPU has access to faster memory. More ram in your case does mean better performance because your 4gb is not enough for windows to run optimally.

If the 2gb ram is of slower speed than your 4gb ram your pc will most likely perform worse (for example in gaming), though performance might be better in some circumstances because of the ram amount increase (for example in photoshop).

If dual channel even works it will only be for the first 2gb, so you will have a total of 4 gb in dual channel, and the rest of 2gb will still perform in single channel mode.

In general I would not advice in mixing up different brands of ram, it is best to always use...

In general I would not advice in mixing up different brands of ram, it is best to always use the exact same ram modules. If you can tell us the speed of the ram modules we can give better advice.
