I wanted to test if the power supply worked, hence, I connected my psu to the mobo (bare connections only). ATX 24 pin cable was connected, along with the cpu power, cpu fan, power switch and a couple of ssd's were also connected.
I turned on the pc, and, after a hour or so, the psu made a loud pop and I saw a flash. Upon investigation, there was no smoke and the mobo looked fine (no burnt parts).
I had just purchased the psu - would it still be under warranty?
Did the power supply blow up because there was not much load on it?
