Intel HD400 graphics vs. Intel 520

So I've reviewed the benchmarks between these two and in some cases, the HD4400 trumps the 520 in terms of performance (that and on paper, they look basically similar, except one uses DDR3/DDR4 and the other just uses DDR3, and the HD4400 only has 20 units and the HD 520 has 24 units).

So my question is, I want to be able to do some light editing in Photoshop CC and Lightroom. Is one going to be better than the other, or will they be about the same? I know PS and LR rely heavily on the CPU as well for processing, but am trying to decide if one of the mobile graphics chips is better than the other. I know the 520 will use less power as it is based on new technology.

Opinions/suggestions?

I should have mentioned that I'm looking at tablets/2-in-1 that utilize these GPUs (so the Core i5 6xxxU-series CPUs vs the older i5 4xxxU-series CPUs, sorry)--so upgrading the RAM is not an option in most cases. I'm looking at a Surface PRo 4 or something simmilar (preferrably something less expensive, but I'll go with the Pro 4 if that's the best I can get for that amount of money). I need something small a light though, nothing larger than 13" or more than 3 lbs as I'm using it to control a camera while I'm out in fields and forest preserves, etc.

I ended up picking up a Lenovo ThinkPad 14" 2-in-1 with the Nvidia GeForce 940M dedicated graphics, i5 6200U, and 8GB of RAM and 256GB SSD for about $900. The advantage I saw over the Surface Pro (aside from being $300 cheaper), is extra USB ports, and dedicated graphics. Everything else was about the same. Yes, the ThinkPad is about 2x the weight of the Surface, but it also has a larger screen (which for me, and being out in the field shooting, maybe be better than a 12" screen). I think this laptop will do what I need it to, and the 2GB dedicated graphics should let me run LR and PS CC without any issues. I was starting to get a little worried about the Intel HD 520 graphics, as it's not much better than the HD4400/4600 from what I've seen from benchmarks (I could be wrong though). The ThinkPad may not get quite the battery life as the Surface Pro, but in the end, I think it was a better purchase. The Surface Pro 2/3/4 are solid designs (durable), but if it only had an extra full-sized USB port, I would have gone with it hands down. But having just 1 USB port bothered me.

Just looking at the specs and benchmarks between the HD 520 and the 940M and in some places, they're about the same, but I think in the end, despite having only a 64-bit memory bus, vs 128-bit, it looks as if the performance is at least the same, if not better for the 940M. What it lacks in memory bandwidth I think it makes up for in processing units and other key factors. And I don't plan on gaming on the thing anyway (even though I could probably do some light gaming).
