Fallout 4 won`t utilize CrossfireX

So as the title says I have a crossfireX setup but Fallout just won`t use the power of the second card. I have tried numerous things found on other threads but none got it to work. Msi Afterburner shows me that both cards are under load but my framerate is just all over the place anywhere from 60 to 10ish. The funny thing is i have played fallout for 150+ houers without any problems only now that i have startet a new carakter this startet to happen.

My prevoius settings where everithyng High to Ultra now i have turned things down to Most things high some Medius and i am still not seeing the same performance as i was bevore.

My setup is:

AMD FX 9590 (at stock speed)
2x R9 290X (Software no. 16.5.2.1 freshly installed)
16 gb ddr3 memory
ASRock 970 PERFORMANCE/3.1 AM3+ AMD Motherboard

So it works in CF before? What driver version you were using back then? And amd CF are quite well known to be problematic in fallout 4. Even their first profiles for fallout 4 only coming out 3 months or 4 months after the gsme release.

Yes it was working in CF before when the first profiles came out sadly i dont know what driver version I had installed.
On a sidenote here I have been able to play FO4 afrer reinstalling drivers and game and disabeling CF completly.
It is only a temporary solution but at least I can play the game now with settings somwehre in the high and ultra range

The game actually were not that demanding except for godrays (which depend a lot on tessellation performance). If you were fine to play tje game without godrays enabled i suggest you to turn it off to get better performance in games.

I will try it once i get home though my main issue now is not the playability of the game but it not being able to use crossfire to play at a comstamt 60fps all ultra since i have spent the money on the hardware id verry much like to use it

Something to consider: Fallout 4 was optimized for PhysX - that means nvidia cards. Personally I have a GTX960 plus a GT730 (this last one dedicated to PhysX only) and the game it "flies" at 1920x1080 with everything at "Ultra", including Weapons Debris and HBAO+ (both added by patch 1.3).
So maybe you have played a version before patch 1.3 (February 2016)?

Still it should not affect radeon card in a bad way since gpu physx is not even accessible to radeon hardware. this is more problem to multi gpu itself.

Fallout 4 favours intel CPUs, so its possible the performance is limited by your CPU not keeping up.

Ps I hace definetly run that version at some point i am unshure however if i turned that feture on ( does it even work with amd cards?) or if it had an impact on performance
