I need to decide wehter to get a microphone or a whole new headset for my birthday.
My budget is maximum £200.

Scenario:
I already own a sennheiser pc350 however the microphone has broken and does no longer work. I have enjoyed this headset very much due to its sound and mic quality. I still own this headset but it is old and tatty. (also one side of the earpiece is barely attached to the structure of the headset.

I now need to decide whether to get a microphone and have two separate devices or buy a new headset with both mic and audio.

I play games such as CSGO (sound is important) (So is mic quality)

Someone please answer this as i need to know what to do quickly before it is too late.

I also wondered if buying a new headset (without mic) and a mic separately that would be a good idea?

I switched to buying my mic and headset seperately a few years ago and would never ever ever go back.

You're on the right track buying your headphones from a headphone company. Sennheiser, Audio Technica, etc.

Then whatever mic you can get for cheap at a big box store, attach it to a mini headphone extension, and you're already a mile ahead of any integrated headphone mic in terms of quality.
