Hey guys! So I'm thinking of getting another 1TB of storage for my computer for a backup drive as my 1TB hard drive I have now(Western Digital Blue Caviar) is over 600GB used and I want to backup my computer so I know my computer is safe and all. I've come across the SSHD and frankly I feel dumb that I didn't get the SSHD in the first place for a like another 20 or so. Anyways the big question is... Western Digital Blue SSHD or the Seagate SSHD??
Now I've put some thought into it and I've come across some information about each thing.
1. Western digital provides and easy migration system between hard drives to transfer it all between the drives and all but requires at least one WD hard drive to start
2. People and statistics state that seagate is horrible as they tend to fail more than WD does.
3. On the sea gate website it says 5 times faster than a 7500rpm and on the western digital it says 5 times faster than a 5300rpm and I was like wait.... Is that a typo??? Surely I know which is faster which is what I want how ever I feel like it's a typo or something as they seem to have the same specs.
Conclusion: western digital seems more reliable and easier to transfer my current files over to my SSHD and use my older 1TB as the backup and seems to be slower and costs a bit more.
Seagate seems less reliable and doesn't seem to have a easy migration system like WD, seems faster, has more reviews on Amazon, and costs less.
WHAT DO I BUY?? I want easiest and fastest really. Was the WD site wrong about the fast thing? (Note both companies had the "*" by it and both said "*As measured by PCMark Vantage storage benchmarking software."
