Is My Motherboard Faulty Now?

So. Info?
CPU: i5 4690 (standard clocking)
Mobo: Asus B85 Plus
GPU: R9 270x (I believe it was pre-OC'd)
PSU: 600w OCZ
Audio: Realtek (unsure exactly..)
Network: Realtek PCIe Family Controller

My GPU started crashing, and I'm faced with a black screen every time I load my PC. I switched my GPU to my second PCIEx (16) and it works. But, after the first time I removed my GPU to just use my motherboard displays, my Ethernet stopped working. Even after replacing the GPU back into its original spot. (I tried all the uninstall drivers/restart stuff with the device manager) Now, I have my GPU in the second PCIEx. In this position, I have now lost all Audio on my PC and Ethernet as well already. The display works though on this second PCIEx port. Is this motherboard-related? Or am I not doing something correctly? Just pretty astounded this happened all at once.

Solution

The only other thing I would say is try re-installing Windows with the GPU back in the original position (and if that doesn't work the second slot). If its still screwed up you need a motherboard.

I've tried uninstalling the Network Adapter and the Audio controller. Nothing works, even upon restarting/rebooting, and the same for putting the computer back to the condiction it was when it worked. The graphics drives started crashing about a week prior-then immediately after I removed the graphics and tried launching with the motherboard's DVI, I lost Ethernet, and still haven't gained it back with the GPU in any position.

Picking as the solution since it's most likely the motherboard; I have no access to a Windows installation CD, and I highly doubt it's Windows-related on this PC. Thanks for your help and quick replies!

If the screen is black even at the BIOS, and even if you remove the GPU the other parts don't work, I agree Windows probably isn't the problem.

Issues are very strange, very likely the motherboard is bad still. But just want you to keep in mind the other possibility is your Windows install corrupted and GPU went bad. Its a long shot, but would cause the same issues.

Thats why I'd almost say try re-installing windows first (and if you can borrow a GPU to test, maybe try a different one in your board)
