Hey guys,

I have been experiencing some issues with my ASRock Z97 Extreme6 Motherboard (at least I am thinking the issue is with the motherboard).

So, I have an Issue, a possible Solution that I found, and two Questions.

But first, some wonderful background stuff:
I was born on... lol jk. A few weeks ago I attempted to update my Graphics Driver. After the installation finished, my computer would not boot (this is during the "restart required" portion). It gave me a post code (b2), which is strange because all I did was install the AMD driver (that shouldn't affect posting...). I went ahead and did a system restore (with the GPU out of my machine), popped it back in and it worked for awhile. It cropped back up a week or so later, and I began having all sorts of issues. Powering off, freezing, not coming back from standby, etc. All these things generally indicate a short, or a PSU failure so I borrowed my PSU tester from work and it said my PSU is fine (I know, not 100% accurate, but I'm assuming it is for now :p). Next I removed devices and tried to boot and replicate the issue. I found that a usb extension cable I had plugged in (for my logitech g930 headset) was seemingly causing the issue. "Great!" I thought. "Problem solved!". Last night my new SSD arrived and I want to upgrade to Win10 at the same time, so I installed and everything was fine until windows downloaded and installed the latest driver automatically for my GPU. Then the hard freeze came back, and it won't boot with my GPU installed. I decided to just re-format with the GPU out of the machine, but now I have a new issue after the re-format.

The Issue:
When I plug in any device into the rear audio jack on my motherboard, it hard freezes my computer (GPU is still out of the machine btw).

The possible Solution:
So far, I have not been able to replicate the issue with the following settings changed. Everything in the BIOS I could find that related to the CPU and power savings, I disabled. I also statically set the BLCK and Multiplier (left he voltage on auto). For the record I have never nor am I currently overclocking this build. Everything is running at the Manufacturer's Rated Specs.

Now the two Questions:
1) Where in world is the setting to disable intel speedstep? The manual states it should be on the OC Tweaktown page, but it isn't. And just disabling the CPU's C states did not stop Win10 from downclocking my processor to .99GHz on the fly. I also cannot find the Turbo Boost setting.

2) Should I just call it quits and send in my MoBo for Warranty Repair/Replacement? I don't want this issue to continue to progress and leave me without a MoBo after the warranty has expired...

Sorry for the large wall of text, but I am an IT professional (not trying to be self-righteous at all, just giving you my level of expertise :p), and I would like some other input on this situation if you are willing.

Thanks for your time!

PS- My specs for your leisure:
MoBo: ASRock Z97 Extreme6
CPU: Intel Core i5 4590
GPU: AMD XFX Radeon HD 7790 (currently running off of intel integrated)
RAM: Mushkin Blackline 4x4GB 1600MHz (9-9-9-24)
SSD: Samsung 850 Evo
PSU: Corsair TX750W V2

Is that all the good stuff? I think that's all of it.. Let me know if you need anything else.

And now it appears that my USB ports are randomly cutting out...

Well, I've contacted ASRock Support, let's see what they say.. I'm thinking I will probably have to return my MoBo though.

Any thoughts from anyone here?
