Solution
Ok so keep the SSD in your build... and add the TB HD ... as SSD and SSHD are same price, you still way way way ahead of the game.

1. Overclockable CPU
2. SLI capable MoBo
3. Double the Memory
4. Keep your original Storage
5. Keep your GFX card
6. HUGE Case Upgrade w/ bult in fan controller ($59.99) in nice Titanium Green
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811854020
7. PSU at half price well more than suitable for this build (9.5 build quality)
http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story6&reid=393
8. Same OS
9. Better fan...tho you don't need it.

And you saved $8
I realize that some of the selections are budget driven but some 'Redistribution of wealth" might be considered

1. I really can't make a case fro dropping the K series processor and not getting a Z series MoBo.

2. 2 x 4GB was the recommended RAM in 2010... we now see gaming impacted by < 16 GB

3. Considering the budget on everything else, the P2 is spending more than ya need, it's a great PSU for an extreme overlcocker, it's not warranted for an H70 build. An EVGA B2 750 is $48

4. I don't understand using a fan controller so you can manually control fan speeds instead of letting motherboard control them for you at no extra cost.

2. What happens when 25 GB runs out ... that 250 GB drive has only 232 GB of file space... windows will eat 80 Gb within sic months leaving 150 GB or so ... with games now taking up 40Gn 65GB, 95 GB of space ....

This is a lot faster, over clockable, and has 8 times the storage whi;e just a hor slower than the SSD

Can you give an instance where performance drops from having 8GB of RAM? This article doesn't seem to back up that claim. http://www.techspot.com/article/1043-8gb-vs-16gb-ram/page3.html

Do you really need a fan controller for silent fans? I have yet to run into case fans (120mm, 140mm) that really generate any noise. I say save your money.

My case is going to have six fans in it so I went the easy route and just decided to go with a fan controller.

I also updated my list of all the purchases made so far at $0.
If you have any recommendations for the remaining parts please keep it under $600.

There are a lot of claims made about PC components where the tester "proves" their case by selecting only tests that prove their case:

1. The Metro 2033 test here, proves that faster RAM (2400 vs 1600) has no effect on gaming performance.
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/32-gb-ddr3-ram,3790-10.html

2. The F1 test here, proves that faster RAM (2400 vs 1600) increases gaming performance by 11%.
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/32-gb-ddr3-ram,3790-10.html

Who you going to believe ? ... These tests love to make the comparisons very simplistic.

"This proves that because w/ a GTX 970 the average FPS results are the same."

But that doesn't prove that Min FPS is the same ... it doesn't prove that SLI performance is the same in avg or min fps. If the GFX card is the bottleneck, then yes, changing memory will have no effect ... but if it isn't ?

As for the 8Gb versus 16GB after 6 years where 8Gb was "safe" we are finally starting to see differences above 1-2 fps. The more GFX power you have, the greater the effect will get which is only logical since the GFX card bottleneck is being removed.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDkKDqThyBo

So when ya can go from 2 x 4GB for $35 to 2 x 8GB for $50, the question has to be asked "Is it worth $15 ?. That's a 7% increase in speed in W3 for a 1.5% increase in system cost. And that's today's games .... that RAM wills till be in use 3 years from now. So for $15, it's pretty darn close to the proverbial 'no brainer'.

Getting more ram is definitely going to happen but currently not now as I've already purchased the 2x4gb.
